Per Dialogum ad Pacem
(Through Dialogue, Toward Peace)

Advancing Dialogue. Preventing Conflict. Building Understanding.
The Council on International Mediation (CIM) is an independent, non-governmental institute dedicated to advancing dialogue, diplomacy, and conflict resolution worldwide.
Operating from Doha, Qatar and Washington, D.C., CIM brings together scholars, practitioners, and mediators to promote understanding, prevent escalation, and support peaceful solutions through research and informed public engagement.
Our Mission
To foster peace and stability by promoting mediation, dialogue, and mutual understanding among nations and communities.
CIM conducts original research, hosts discussions, and builds bridges between ideas, institutions, and individuals striving for a more peaceful world.
Our Work
CIM’s activities are designed to bridge the gap between research, dialogue, and real-world impact. Our work focuses on:
-
Research & Analysis — Conducting independent studies on mediation practices, negotiation dynamics, and peacebuilding efforts across regions.
-
Dialogue & Engagement — Convening roundtables, conferences, and expert discussions that encourage open exchange and shared understanding among global stakeholders.
-
Education & Outreach — Providing seminars, workshops, and training sessions that strengthen mediation literacy and promote constructive communication.
-
Public Diplomacy & Awareness — Engaging the wider public through publications, forums, and initiatives that elevate mediation as a vital tool of international cooperation.
Together, these efforts reinforce CIM’s role as a trusted, independent voice in the global conversation on peace and mediation.
Our Ethos
CIM operates on the principles of neutrality, transparency, collaboration, and intellectual integrity.
We believe that peace is sustained not through power, but through dialogue grounded in trust and empathy — values that define every initiative we undertake.
